In BI/BW7.0, process chains are used to schedule the data loads in BW. Examples include loading master data; loading transactional data, updating statistics etc. During the implementation project, one consultant gets stewardship of the process chains because of numerous factors that must be considered while establishing the schedule. After go-live and transition into support, event/fault notification can go to whatever BI professional is on call.
In summary, SAP’s best practice recommendation is that one individual is responsible for the initial definition and subsequent changes to process chains. Any other knowledgable BI/BW professional should be able to access the process chain monitor, identify problems and resolve them.
